Swimmer's ear (otitis externa) is an inflammation and infection of the ear canal. Swimming, bathing, allergies, or even cleaning your ear with a cotton-tipped swab can lead to discomfort, bacterial growth, and infection. The ear is made up of an intricate system of tiny bones, organs, and membranes that produce the signals our brain interprets as sound. Ear infection is very common illness of childhood. Usually children are infected by middle ear infections. This problem attacks the children of young age particularly between the ages of 3 months to 3 years. Due to some upper respiratory infection, acute infections can be caused as this infection spreads to the ear.

Your doctor might tell you that tinnitus or ringing ears is very hard to treat though there are a number of tinnitus remedies. This is very true since this is not a disease but a symptom. In addition to that, there are plenty of underlying causes of this condition. This will further make it harder to cure since the doctor cannot pinpoint where it comes from.

Ear infections are often due to an underlying allergy which causes inflammation that blocks the thin tube that runs from the sinuses to the ears. Once this swells and blocks, the inner ear chamber develops an infection, and treatment via antibiotics actually greatly increases the risk of another infection developing.
